The Database of the Estimate, the Managed Data, In-Row Documents, Internal Files and the Owners Book are STORED in the estimate. Part of them may be inherited from a master estimate. (Refer to Settings of New Estimates.)
Some links and options, the user profiles (and the default one), the requests and macros, scenarios, the internal files (see Events Management), the page settings to print (if a profile has this permission), the Custom Distribution Curves are also stored in the estimate. The setting for the databases (refer to Prefixes) is not stored.
In particular, in the database selector, the content of the Preferential (partially) and Sets editor tabs is attached to the current estimate:
▪Some Preferential Databases are REFERENCED in the estimate, the others in the user profile. Other references can be made in free columns (refer to How to Build a Master Document (Template)
▪The prefixed databases can be used only if the "Use database accessible with prefix" box is checked for this estimate (refer to Prefixes); this information is saved with the estimate
▪The Sets editor options apply in this estimate (refers to How to Create an Empty Database of Sets).
The calculation engine is optimized to write to variables only when necessary: when you save a workbook, a paste operation, a move operation, remove the definition of a variable, etc. Workbooks are always all recalculated when you do a check-and-repaint.
