Description
The Expanded WBS features a bottom area:
The bottom area is made up of:
▪The rows VAT and Total amount including VAT (option)
▪A free area used to add, for example, the General sales terms, delivery time, etc.; Excel-like formulas are allowed, and can refer to another row; global variables can be pasted here (Refer to Consumption of Variables.)
▪An area dedicated to Options, i.e., additional items or variants
A typical optional task is the replacement of a Minute (whose quantity is -1) with another (whose quantity is 1); both Minutes are in the same section:

Settings
To set the VAT rate, refer to Calculation Options.
The box Show VAT and ATI amount and the toggler View>Show/hide flags>Show VAT and ATI amount have the SAME function.
For a non administrator, this common function must be allowed in the User Profiles (VAT rate and display).
NOTE VATRate is managed as a User-defined variable. Refer to Managed Data.
Expanding the Options Area
To insert rows, select a cell/a vertical range in the area, right-click and select Insert row before.
To remove rows, select Remove rows.
Tool: Home bar, Compute group, Option box
Checking the box is subject to a security setting (Set as option).
Use either method:
▪In the Condensed WBS, select the targeted row, check the box; this turns the appearance of the task (and its whole content in case of a chapter): blue background and italics; in addition, brackets wrap the figure in the Cost Total and Selling price /Total columns as they are not taken into account in the total:
▪In the Expanded WBS, the box is enabled when you select a node row: checking the box shifts the task (and its whole content in case of a chapter) to the Options area in the sheet bottom.
With both methods, the 'Move to bottom' box gets checked at the same time. To bring back the task/branch to its original place, uncheck the 'Move to bottom' box; as a result, the row shows struck through In the Expanded WBS as it is still not taken into account in the total rows. The Condensed WBS is not modified.
Such rows can be spotted through the value equal to 1 of Free Fields defined by the 'Option remains in the core' formula.
However, if you have checked the Options>Editing>"By default, keep options in core estimate when the 'Options' box gets checked" box, then you get the same behavior in one click: the task or chapter remains in the core (struck through); the ‘Move to bottom’ box keeps its function.
NOTES
- The strike through is a line, that in Excel shows as a shape
- A row height adjustment would disturb the display
- Reports of type WBS or Minutes can reflect these moves back.
To empty the options zone altogether, click Home>Compute>Options>Remove All Options.
To show the sum of some options, put them in a branch and consider the whole branch as optional.
