The WBS sheet is an option that allows the bidder to indirectly link the WBS and the overhead workbook through formulas.
It shows values originating in the condensed and/or expanded WBS.
To show the WBS sheet, refer to How to Add a Sheet.
Unlike the original WBS tab, this sheet do NOT feature the costs per unit and selling prices per unit.
The distributions in percent of total cost and selling price are read-write columns.
The optional tasks show in a dark blue italicized typeface on a blue background; the logical value 1 shows in the "Is option" column; by default, they are not counted in the distribution.
Developing the Sheet
You can lay out the sheet in a different manner.
Using the context menu, you can add read-only columns such as:
▪native columns
▪native column WBS HexIndex, which is a 24-bit task ID, also visible in the Minutes view
▪native columns WBS Internal Quantity, WBS Internal Quantity Options, WBS Is Option (refer to Quantities) IF there are inserted in the WBS
▪free columns
▪"Is Minute”, "Is Option" columns (logical fields) that can be used in free columns' formulas, and also "Level" as in the Minutes view (refer to Description)
▪Defining Return Values columns (in formulas, use WBS HexIndex or WBS GUID rather than item which may not be unique).
NOTES
- Duplicate columns are allowed
- The mnemonic of added columns starts with a quote in the formula box.
You can add read-write columns:
▪free columns, but there is no Properties menu, no Global Variables to paste, only special pasting of formulas (menu Home>Paste)
▪Defining Return Values columns (in formulas, use WBS HexIndex or WBS GUID rather than item which may not be unique).
NOTE The mentioned column references in the drop-down list are those in the original WBS.
Mnemonics
In Edit mode, the mnemonics show in the row #8 (the context menu Properties is not available).
They can be used in other sheet's header; syntax: =WBS!<Column reference>8.
#IsOption# and #Level# are used instead of WBS_IsOption (WBS and Minutes) and WBS_Level (Minutes).
#HexIndex# is used instead of WBS_HexIndex (Minutes).
#FreeField# is the mnemonic of all the free fields and the distribution fields. It is supplemented with a specific ID in the row #9.
WBS_Range_Items and WBS_Range_Full can be used as reference in formulas.
