To adapt the Expanded WBS to your needs, an administrator can:
▪Create new fields (called free fields) and customize their behavior and formats fixed through a series of attributes
▪Create columns from Minutes, used to show the distribution of the values of numerical Minutes fields and customize their behavior and formats through a series of attributes
▪Customize the native fields’ name, visibility and formats. (To revert to the Default name, right click and select Define native name.)
On creation, a field is automatically inserted into the Expanded WBS (and visible in Normal mode if its Visibility is set to Yes in the Fields Manager).
Description
The Fields Manager features a workbook embedded in a resizeable dialog window. The workbook includes three sheets whose tab names are:
▪Free Fields (supplemented with special columns whose mnemonics are gray background)
▪Fields from Minutes
▪Native Fields.
NOTE Some native fields whose mnemonic begins with WBS_ pertain to the sections of Minutes, and show in the Minutes Fields Manager and when you select Insert field in the view of Minutes. They allow you to adapt the processing to the task status.
Common Procedures
Access: Expanded WBS, menu Administration>Fields Manager.
To delete fields, select the rows, and click the Delete Field button. Alternatively: right-click the row and select Delete field(s).
To paste a row(s), select the source row(s), right-click and select Copy; then paste it/them to a new field(s).
A grayed-out cell is not editable, due to other attributes of the same field; change them to enable the cell.
Conditional Formatting: double click in the Conditional Formula column, and define conditions (rules) and the associated formats.
When you click OK, the column is automatically inserted at the right side.
When the column related to a field is inserted, you can read its attributes through the Properties context menu.
Changing the Manager's Aspect
To zoom in/out the workbook, hold down the Ctrl key, and roll the mouse’s wheel.
The first column (ID and Mnemonic) are frozen so that they will always be visible when you scroll horizontally.
To adjust a column width, select either vertical border in the upper rows with letters, and drag it to the desired width. To restore a column whose width is null, select the wrapping columns.
To adjust a row height, select either horizontal border in the left-hand column, and drag it to the desired height.
