Overhead Report

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Like with the overhead workbook, this type of report is organized by sheets, not by pages.

QDV7 pastes the content of overhead sheets (without formula), the print area and titles. GUI Widgets still work, but the fold/unfold toggles (refer to Creating a Structure) do NOT (the structure status is as it is in the source, expanded or collapsed).

Edition of Overhead Report by a User

First ask the administrator to make the reports editable by the user. This allows the user to switch to Edit mode and:

select the tab of an undesired sheet, and click Home>Delete>Delete sheet

right click any tab, and select Sheets from overhead; this allows you to select the sheets to include in the report (the sheets that the administrator has hidden can NOT be restored)

right click any tab, and select Edit under Excel; in Excel add a new sheet and save it in QDV7, where it is editable.

The user can edit only the sheets that he/she has added in Excel. S/he can paste only names of visible sheets. (For exceptions refer to Range of Cells.)

HIDEROW formulas (refer to Sheet of Sales) can be added.

NOTE If the right to read any of those sheets is denied to the user, only the last thumb shows with values equal to N/A.

Use of the Name Manager by a User in a Report of Overhead Type

All the local ranges whose reference is in displayed sheets can be pasted. To extend this capability to hidden sheets, uncheck the box File>Options>Security>References to hidden ranges and columns not allowed.

RANGES

A range of cells can be defined and pasted using the context menu. For reports, the capabilities are limited to:

report_management

Name of the sheets: 'First/Next/option/Bottom Page(s) Header'. The name manager is shared by all the sheets.
