How to Compact an Estimate or a Database |

Before archiving an estimate, it is recommended to compact the file.
The default directory is set in File>Options>Settings for estimates.
To compact an estimate or database file, click File>Tools>Files Estimate>Compact estimate or database. This replaces the selected file in its folder with a lighter file. The file must not be in read-only mode.
To expand an estimate file, click File>Tools>Files Estimate>Expand an estimate; the file extension becomes qdx and the size increases. It can be open directly in QDV7. This operation is reversible.

NOTES
- To compact/expand several files at one time, select them with the Shift key
- The Sample Zip Tools macro in the Multi_Language_Sample_With_Documents.qdv estimate can zip (yes) or unzip (No) an estimate.
