What is the Overhead Minute intended for? |
It is a orphan section of Minutes used to record direct activities for the sake of several tasks; e.g., the rental of a machine. These Minutes share with the regular Minutes (the ones of the "Core estimate") the Kind Ids (generally those of the Workforce set as they invoke durations of use), and their rates and factors, and the potential tasks in Gantt. In the overhead sheets (except for Summary), their costs and selling prices are totaled apart (section "Overhead Task"). |
When should you use regular minutes instead? |
▪If sharing the resource delays the project too much (the task of Gantt may be on the critical path). ▪If the resource stays unused for too long between two allocations. ▪If a WBS-oriented planner is used. |
Trades for which it is useful |
