The planners are based on either principle:

▪Waterfall Gantt such as the one in QDV7 by default where the Gantt tasks does not match the WBS tasks; they are correlated, but have different objectives.

▪WBS planners such as Microsoft Project, where time-dependency underlies the WBS: a task is a phase in the project.
