Current Estimate

To close the current estimate, click File>Close.

If the estimate has not yet been saved, QDV7 saves it, by default, in the temporary directory C:/Users/<user name>/AppData/Local/Temp/Estimate_FilesMain; this path is for Vista. (To make the hidden folder visible, set the directory options accordingly.)

 

Before archiving an estimate, it is recommended to compress the file.

To compress the current estimate, click File>Tools>Compact estimate. This saves the estimate in the temporary directory if the estimate has not yet been saved.

 

Other Estimates

The default directory is set in File>Options>Settings>for estimates.

To compress an estimate file, click File>Tools>Compact an estimate or database, and select it. This applies also to the set databases. The file must not be in read-only mode.

To expand an estimate file, click File>Tools>Expand an estimate; the file extension becomes qdx.

The cycle is as follows:

 

 

NOTE To compress/expand several files at one time, select them with the Shift key.
