Selection of Targeted Estimates & Synchronization

In the Home tab, select the Estimate view, for selecting estimates and/or folders with estimates (for massive selection).

In the Estimate view, browse estimates and/or folders for selection. To target the sub-folders in one time, click Add folders.

To index the targeted estimates, click Proceed. The current row being selected does not matter.

The Status column reports the successes and the failures. If an estimate is flagged as Reading, it will not be taken into account. The folders are tagged with the count of qdv files they contain.

To read hidden statuses, expand the folders: a folder have an orange status because one of its estimate is in fault.

The status bar shows "Extraction of data from estimate ...." and finally "The database is updated".

If you add an estimate later, select its row, then click Proceed. This avoids re-indexing the others.

warning When you select one estimate, it may happen that the synchronization cannot be terminated. In this event, close the module and reopen it; the synchronization should be terminated.

Search Criteria

Go to the Search view. The view features a area for criteria (Filters) and an area for matches.

The selected fields IDs (preceded by the full path and the domain ("Branch")) initiates the matches table.

The search criteria are defined by logic equations that test the key fields (keyset).

To enter the logic equations, up to four areas are available depending on the count of domains previously checked.

Enter the conditions by left clicks, first on :

Boolean Operator

|_ <Field ID with prefix><operator><sought-after value>

|_ <Field ID with prefix><operator><sought-after value>

The boolean operator, whose values are AND (by default), OR, NAND, NOR. makes sense when several conditions are entered (Add condition).

The module adds a prefix before the field ID according to its domain: WBS, Minutes, GlobalVar, Gantt. An empty drop-down list denotes the absence of field value in the selected estimates.

To validate the sought-after value, press Enter.

To expand the equation, select Add group (alternative: press the Insert key) and repeat selection. Within an area the drop-down lists propose the key fields in their domain. To enlarge the equation editor pane, drag the border with the mouse.

To delete an equation row, click ⊗.

You can save the configuration (source(s) of data and filters) (its name shows) and reload it later.

The proposed operators list adapts to the type of selected field (string, date, ...). For strings, the module provides:

String Operator

Determines whether the data in the field you select ...

Equals

Is identical to the string you have specified

Does not equal

Differs from the string you have specified (Exclusion operator)

Is greater than

Follows the string you have specified according to alphabetically order (digits are first)

Is greater than or equal to

Is less than

Precedes the string you have specified according to alphabetically order (digits are first)

Is less than or equal to

Is between

Shows between the strings you have specified according to alphabetically order (digits first). The two operands must be in the right order (they are included)

Is not between

String Operator

Determines whether the data in the field you select...

Begins With

Begins with the string you have specified

Does Not Begin With

Does not begin with the string you have specified

Contains

Contains the string you have specified

Does Not Contain

Does not contain the string you have specified

Does Not End With

Does not end with the string you have specified

Ends With

Ends with the string you have specified

Is like

Idem Equals, but supports the % wild-card

Is not like

Idem Does not equal but supports the % wild-card

Is any of

Idem Equals, but case-sensitive

Is none of

Idem Does not equal, but case-sensitive

Is blank

Is not blank

The search is not case-sensitive except when specified in the table.

For numeric fields, the module provides:

Numeric Operator

Determines whether the data in the field you select...

Equals

Is identical to the value you have specified

Does not equal

Differs from the value you have specified (Exclusion operator)

Is greater than

Follows the value you have specified according to the increasing numeric order

Is greater than or equal to

Is less than

Precedes the value you have specified according to the increasing numeric order

Is less than or equal to

Is between

Shows between the values you have specified according to numeric order. The two operands must be in the right order (they are included)

Is not between

Is null

Equals the integer 0

Is not null

Do not use

Is any of

Equals one of the values in the list

Is none of

Differs from all the values in the list

Search

In the Search view, the matches table populates automatically. To delete persisting rows, click Refresh.

To alphabetically order a column, click its header.

To hide/show the ribbon, click the ^ toggler on the upper right corner.

To locate the originating row, select the row and double click the row. This opens the Estimating module, shows the relevant tab and selects the matching row. Exception: matches against Global variables.

NOTE If the matching row is part of a set, the link points to the set header.

Ignore the matches that show without path.

The absence of match may be due to the following:

no estimate in the selected scope meets at least one criterion

the status of estimates is still Reading.
